The world's largest event dedicated to microscopy held every four years under the auspices of the International Federation of Societies for Microscopy (IFSM), took place on September 7 – 12 2014 in Prague, the Czech Republic. The Congress chairman was Prof. Pavel Hozák, president of the Czechoslovak Microscopy Society and the head of the Cell Nucleus Biology Department at the Institute of Molecular Genetics of the Czech Academy of Sciences.
